Frolicking, from stone to stone, stroll among the hills of Quercy Blanc or refreshing in the Segala forest, there are a thousand ways to discover the Lot by foot!

Hiking

Nearly 700 km of hiking trail (called GR acronym of Grande Randonnée) are maintained and marked in the Lot department. Several large routes including the famous Way of St Jacques de Compostela, historic road connecting Le Puy en Velay to St Jacques de Compostela form a mesh with multiple solutions walking in loops or homelessness.

The Way of Saint Jacques

Traversed the entire part by the legendary Le Puy way, the Lot department counts many monuments, sites and route sections classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.

On one axis from east to south-west, the Lot department keep engraved on his skin the main Pilgrim route: the way from Le Puy, or GR65. From Conques, the latter enters the department by the Lot valley, stops at Figeac and Gréalou (near Cajarc) and then again towards Cahors and trace its path to Montcuq before pushing the door of the Tarn-et-Garonne. Two variants allows to discover the Cele Valley in GR651 or GR6 Rocamadour, a place of pilgrimage known.

The Swamp of Bonnefont

The Swamp of Bonnefont is a natural reserve with a nature trail. Go on discovering a swamp! Sources of Alzou between Gramat and St. Céré, come and discover with your family a rare and remarkable natural site of the Regional Natural Park of the Causses of Quercy.

The activities provided during the visit (observations of small animals in the water, listening and approach to water birds, ...) will prove the luxuriousness of the wetlands, nevertheless delicate and endangered.
