Nearly 700 km of hiking trail (called GR acronym of Grande Randonnée) are maintained and marked in the Lot department. Several large routes including the famous Way of St Jacques de Compostela, historic road connecting Le Puy en Velay to St Jacques de Compostela form a mesh with multiple solutions walking in loops or homelessness.The Way of Saint Jacques
Traversed the entire part by the legendary Le Puy way, the Lot department counts many monuments,
sites and route sections classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.
